RHODE ISLAND HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL

Rhode Island Survivor Community

Nearly 200 Holocaust survivors settled in Rhode Island in the postwar years. They came from all over Europe, including Hungary, Poland, The Netherlands, Lithuania, Latvia, Belarus, and Czechoslovakia. Although they became full and active participants in the vibrant Jewish community of Rhode Island, they never forgot their parents, grandparents, siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles, and even children who were victims to the Holocaust, and for whom they built this memorial as a tribute.
